Major Winner Park Returns Home for Aramco Spectacle
Korean icon Sung Hyun Park leads the charge in Seoul at the star-studded Aramco Korea Championship
Seoul, Korea - Sung Hyun Park is coming home—and Korean golf fans couldn’t be more thrilled.
The former World No.1 and two-time Major champion will headline the Aramco Korea Championship from 9–11 May at New Korea Country Club, marking her debut at a Golf Saudi event and her return to domestic competition in grand style.
“It’s always an honour to play at home,” Park said. “And to do so in a global event like this is even more meaningful.”
Park’s presence adds serious weight to a championship already brimming with promise. With seven LPGA Tour wins—including the 2017 U.S. Women’s Open and the 2018 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship—she brings pedigree, power, and passion to an event rapidly establishing itself as a marquee moment on the Ladies European Tour calendar.
She’ll be joined by reigning champion and current World No.13 Hyo Joo Kim, part of a strong South Korean contingent ready to take on a global field in front of a home crowd.
The three-day format blends innovation with tradition: team play over the first two rounds with 26 professional squads chasing a $500,000 prize, followed by a final-day individual shootout for a $1.5 million purse—among the richest on the LET.
Hosted by Golf Saudi, the event is as much about growing the game as it is about crowning champions. From empowering women in sport to sparking youth interest in golf, the Aramco Korea Championship is a statement as well as a spectacle.
With Sung Hyun Park’s return leading the way, Seoul is primed for a festival of world-class golf and hometown glory.
