Lee Kyoung-hoon and Kang Sung-hoon fail to progress to the weekend rounds
Quangnam Vietnam - Korea’s Lee Kyoung-hoon and Kang Sung-hoon have failed to make the cut at the PGA Tour’s Puerto Rico Open, held at Grand Reserve Golf Club in Rio Grande.
Lee carded a one-under-par 71 in the second round, recording three birdies and two bogeys on the par-72, 7,506-yard course. Having opened with a two-under 70, he reached a 36-hole total of three-under 141, finishing outside the cut line in the 80s.
The cut was set at five-under-par 139, with the top 61 players advancing to the weekend.
Lee's Season Struggles Continue
A two-time PGA Tour winner, Lee has now missed the cut in three of seven starts this season. His best finish came in January’s Farmers Insurance Open, where he placed tied ninth.
Having failed to qualify for the Arnold Palmer Invitational, a Signature Event, Lee was hoping for a strong performance in Puerto Rico but fell short once again.
Kang also missed the cut, finishing outside the top 100 with a one-under total of 143.
Meanwhile, Bae Sang-moon, who opened with a three-over 75, withdrew due to a neck injury after reaching three-under through 12 holes in the second round.
Norwegian Leads the Field
Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen (Norway) leads at the halfway stage with a 15-under-par 129, one shot ahead of Davis Riley (USA) at 14-under 130.
Austin Cook (USA) sits in third at 13-under 131.
Elsewhere, Korean-American Kim Chan is tied 16th at nine-under 135, while James Hahn (USA) made the cut in tied 61st at five-under 139.
