SEOUL, Korea - Ina Yoon, who was disciplined by the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) for "Wrong Ball Played," will return early.
KLPGA held its first board meeting in 2024 at its headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, from 11 a.m. on the 8th.
The board of directors approved the "Ina's request for disciplinary reduction or exemption for full members," which decided to discuss again at the 10th board meeting last year.
The KLPGA suspended Ina for three years in September 2022. The reduction reduced her participation by one year and six months.
Yoon will be disciplined until March 19. Starting from March 20, she will be able to play the KLPGA Tour. This year's KLPGA regular tour will be held in the size of about 30 tournaments.
The Korea Golf Association (KGA) reduced Ina's punishment in September last year for one year and six months.
As a result, Ina will be able to participate in all tournaments to be held in Korea from March 20 this year.
In June 2022, Ina admits she played the wrong ball during the Korea Women's Open. She miss the cut as a result of the second round.
A month later, she reported this issue to the KGA during her participation in the KLPGA Tour's Ever Collagen Queen's Crown in July. Yoon had her first career tour title at the same championship.
